5. Tricolore stripe
Ferrari offered the Tricolore stripe as an option for the Challenge Stradale. Back in 2003/2004, this was a $5479 / €4650 / £3100 option, and only 20%-25% of the cars were fitted with a factory Tricolore stripe. Many owners added a cheaper "sticker" stripe to their car after taking delivery.
The easiest way to spot a factory stripe, is to see if it's under the clear coat. A stripe installed by the factory should be placed under the clear coat and thus you cannot "feel" the stripe. An aftermarket stripe is a sticker on top of the paint. It's easy to apply/remove and shouldn't cost more than a few 100 dollars.
A few common mistakes with aftermarket stripes are listed below. For example, the stripe shouldn't run through the FERRARI logo on the rear decklid.
6. Pre-production Challenge Stradales
Ferrari built 2 pre-production cars for the Geneva Motorshow in March 2003. These cars had a few differences compared to the regular production models.

8. Livery number #61 - The Challenger - inspired by the Challenge Stradale
Taken from the Ferrari 70th Anniversary website:
"The 2003 Challenge Stradale was created to embody the pure spirit of competition. Derived from the 360 Modena, its form epitomised pure function, while its purpose was pure performance. In terms of looks, this model was unmistakably Ferrari: red with an Italian flag racing livery."
"As part of activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the Prancing Horse, Ferrari Tailor Made, together with the designers of Centro Stile have put a modern twist on the stylistic features and elements that distinguished 70 of the most beautiful Ferraris in history and in so doing have created 70 unique design.
Seventy exclusive liveries, each created just the once for every car in the current range, blend the past with the future to create the icons of tomorrow."
So in theory, Ferrari has built only one 488 GTB, one 488 Spider, one California T, one F12 Berlinetta and one GTC4Lusso with the CS livery, 5 cars in total.
